Payment Sent to Consumer Reports Class Members

On April 5, 2019, payments were sent to class members as part of the $16.375 million settlement in Ruppel v. Consumers Union of United States, Inc..  The settlement was approved by Judge Kenneth M. Karas of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York on December 4, 2018, and provides for cash payments to class members of $109.28 each.

“We are thrilled that the settlement proceeds are being distributed,” said Philip L. Fraietta, one of the firm’s partners handling the matter.  “This is a terrific result that will put real money into the pockets of Consumer Reports magazine subscribers.”
