$267 Million Jury Award Against Robocaller
Today, a federal judge in Oakland entered a $267 million judgment in a class action against debt collector Rash Curtis & Associates. The judgment followed a May 2019 jury verdict finding Rash Curtis had made more than 532,000 autodialed calls in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.
“Our clients are quite happy with the jury’s verdict, obviously,” said Scott A. Bursor of Bursor & Fisher, P.A., who served as lead trial counsel for the class. “We were awarded 100% of the relief we sought.” The trial victory also extended Bursor & Fisher’s record of winning every class action trial it has done. “For our law firm, this wasn’t the largest verdict we’ve won, but it’s close. It’s our 6th win in 6 class action jury trials.”
