Bursor & Fisher, P.A. Appointed Interim Class Counsel in "Haier Freezers" Lawsuit

On August 17, 2011, Judge Edward J. Davila of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California appointed Bursor & Fisher, P.A. to serve as Interim Class Counsel in In re Haier Freezer Consumer Litigation to represent a proposed class of people who purchased mislabeled freezers from Haier America Trading, LLC and General Electric Company.

The lawsuit alleges that Haier and GE sold freezers that violated the energy efficiency standards established by the National Appliance Energy Conservation Act and misrepresented the energy efficiency of those freezers on the EnergyGuide labels.

"We are pleased that Judge Davila appointed our firm as interim class counsel in this case," said L. Timothy Fisher, one of the firm's partners handling the matter. "Judge Davila recognized our experience in litigating similar claims against LG and Sears, and we intend to litigate this case aggressively on behalf of our clients and all of those class members who purchased mislabeled freezers from Haier and GE."
