CitiMortgage, Inc., Case No. 11-CIV-4718 (PGG), to represent a proposed nationwide class of military personnel in a class action lawsuit against CitiMortgage for illegal foreclosures. Judge Gardephe commented that the firm has "the resources and personnel necessary to carry out large-scale class action litigation." "We intend to bring those resources to bear to seek justice for our men and women in uniform," said Scott A. Bursor, one of the firm's partners handling the matter. "While these Servicemembers were out defending our country, CitiMortgage was foreclosing on their property back home. The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA) is supposed to prevent foreclosures like these, and we will vigorously prosecute this case to ensure our clients' rights under that law are honored."
